The Northern Oesophago-Gastric Unit has been involved in research for 30 years. We have an interest in both clinical research and translational research (basic sciences), and usually have at least one research registrar undertaking an MD or PhD.

Our current research registrars are Miss Pooja Prasad who is commencing a study on “rehabilitation” to see if we can accelerate improvements in quality of life after surgery, and Mr Ersong Shang who is carrying out translational research.

Papers from NOGU and collaborations, are regularly published in peer review journals and links to abstracts can be found here.
